FAQs for San Diego Restaurant Photography

Can you help with photos for my website, social media, and delivery platforms?

Absolutely. As a food and restaurant photographer in San Diego, I understand the platforms local diners use, and I tailor each shoot to support your marketing goals. When we talk about the goals you have for these photos, from Instagram to online menus, I will deliver images with the appropriate aspect ratio. I shoot with versatility in mind, so your photos will look great everywhere. I’ve also photographed for brands on GrubHub, UberEats, and DoorDash, so I understand how to meet those platforms’ visual requirements. And if you're looking for help managing your social media presence, I offer that too.

How do I know which dishes to prepare for a partial menu photo shoot?

This depends on your goals for the photos and whether it is your first or a supplemental photo shoot. I have a checklist that will guide you through some of the decisions, but I am also a great resource to help you decide. Learn more about the checklist here.

How much does restaurant photography cost?

Since each brand has unique goals and budgets, I tailor custom packages to your brand’s needs. Together, we'll design a customized package that aligns perfectly with your business objectives, ensuring you get exactly what you need. Let’s craft a solution that drives results for your brand and maximizes your investment.

Do you offer a discount for booking multiple sessions or long-term engagements?

Yes, I offer Loyalty Perks. When you book multiple photoshoots within the same calendar year, you'll automatically receive bonus images (no punch card required). Your second shoot gets 2 additional images, your third gets 3, your fourth gets 4, and so on. The more we create together, the more value you receive. It is my way of saying thanks for trusting me with your brand again and again.

Do you travel outside San Diego for restaurant shoots?

Most of my work is here in San Diego County, from Point Loma to Carlsbad, but I do take select projects beyond the area. I am always up for an excuse for a getaway, so reach out and pitch your location! I regularly travel to Orange County and Santa Barbara County and El Dorado Hills, so if your restaurant is outside San Diego and you’re looking for consistent, brand-aligned photography, get in touch and let’s see if we’re a fit.

How long does a typical restaurant photo session take?

It depends on your needs. A mini session for a few dishes might take an hour, while a full restaurant brand shoot—including interiors, action shots, and team portraits—could take half a day. I’ll create a custom package once I know your goals.

Do you photograph during service or only when the restaurant is closed?

Both are options, depending on your goals. Want that bustling energy of a full house? Let’s shoot during service. Part of that answer depends on what your kitchen staff can handle. If your focus is styled shots of your food and interior without distractions, then a closed session might work best. We’ll talk through what fits your brand and schedule.
