Come, follow me…and I will send you out to fish for people. Mark 1:17
My writer friend, Siv, blogged about how today being the start of Advent, where Christians remember our longing for the arrival of the Messiah. Together, we created a set of devotional cards which make a great Advent calendar, but can be used in any order all year long. I hand lettered two word phrases spoken by Jesus as found in Mark’s gospel; and Siv wrote a prayer to pair with the corresponding Scripture on the reverse of each card. The best thing about them is that we are giving them away for free. You can print your own set by claiming your freebie by clicking here.

And if you want to know why this one is especially special to me, read on. I have thought for a long time that God wants me to be a fisher of men (and women) so the passages where Jesus talks about this. I know that He wants all of His followers to fish for people, but I have been put in situations where I was able to share my story, and was given the comfort that allowed me to be vulnerable. Plus, I was in the Anglers Club in high school and my first real life graphic design project was the package label for a fishing reel. So, as part of my mission to fish for people, I have used my gifts to put these together for you, for free. My gifts include the love of lettering, my graphic design know how, and my friendship with a writer that helped me to pull it off.
Merry Christmas.
